Role of a Care Navigator
Why do receptionists ask why I need to see a Doctor or Nurse?
Our reception team are training as Care Navigators and are specially trained to know about the care and services available to you at the surgery and in the local area. They’ll listen and talk to you in confidence about your health problem, to understand your needs, so they can book an appointment with the right Healthcare Professional or service.
What can Care Navigators help with?
- Help patients get the right care from the right Healthcare Professional as soon as possible
- Know whether self-referral is available for certain services at the practice or in our area
- Make appointments for new kinds of care or new services you may not be aware of
- Access the appropriate Healthcare Professional
